PioKil-V(Antiviral Solution for Aquaculture)-1L
While shrimp are most severely affected, WSSV also infects a wide range of crustaceans and
aquatic species, including crabs and certain fish, leading to significant morbidity, mortality, and
productivity loss across farming systems. WSSV exhibits considerable genetic variability among
isolates, making it challenging to develop broad-spectrum antiviral strategies such as traditional
protease inhibitors. Compounding this challenge, aquatic animals like shrimp and crabs rely
solely on innate immunity, offering limited and short-term defense against viral infections.
Conventional control measures—particularly oral administration of antiviral agents—are often
constrained by low bioavailability, instability in pond or saline environments, and high
operational costs.
These challenges underscore the need for a cost-effective, thermally stable, and scalable
antiviral solution applicable across diverse aquaculture species.
PioKil-V has been specifically developed to meet this need, providing a broad-spectrum antiviral
approach for the prevention and control of WSSV and related viral infections in shrimp, fish, and
crabs.
